Navigating therapy for the first time can be intimidating. Our goal at KM is to make therapy approachable and successful for you. FAQ

  • Our practice does not provide intro phone consultations. At KM we utilize the initial session as a way for you to get to know your therapist, along with them getting to know you.

    We strongly believe in the importance of having a "good fit" with your therapist and the need for good rapport.

    Experience has taught us that we can learn more about what our clients need during a full 60-minute session rather than a brief 15-minute phone call.

  • Yes, Generally speaking, if we are in network with your plan, the health insurance will cover the majority of the cost per session. However, if you have a co-pay amount or deductible, you would be responsible for covering that portion.

    To find out what your co-payment/deductible amount is, call the number on the back of your health insurance plan and inquire about what that set amount would be for outpatient behavioral health services.

  • Once we have confirmed your appointment, we will need your date of birth to enroll you in the patient portal.

    Once you have gained access to the patient portal, you will be assigned documents that you will complete before your scheduled session.

    We cannot meet with you if the paperwork is not completed before your scheduled session.

  • Sessions are scheduled for an hour and usually last for the entire hour.

  • During the first initial session, we will review questions about any of the portal documents completed. cancellation policy, confidentiality, and privacy, along with confirming that you live within the state of Massachusetts.

    We will then review the reason you are seeking therapy and have a robust conversion around your goals for treatment. This will usually occur within a natural progression, conversational-like style.
